Seven Days at Lila B.

Sometimes I wonder, what did we do last week?

Here’s a little photo journal entry about how we all at Lila B. spent just one week in July of 2012.

In the {parking} Lot Garden:

Grooming, watering, Slug patrol {eek, we do it by hand!}, and yes our favorite task: cutting flowers & greens and plucking Succulents too for this week’s events.

Mimi helps select and cut for our wedding- and then fills our Honda Element with all sorts of fabulous stems!

In the Studio

With 2 sweet weddings on the books for the coming Saturday, we’re busily creating  bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnieres & more! All while neighbors swing by to purchase Succulent and Floral take homes – Baylor chats with a kind mother of a (former) bride who visits us at the ‘Flower Bar’ (our raised loading dock) to select some super hip Succulents for her,  just around the corner,  office at Mission Loc@le.

Planning & Proposals

We stay in and we step out of the studio to meet up with clients, brides, and event…

Interior Green Design at DesignMap

The Walnut for the large custom planters was certified sustainable by the Forest Stewardship Council. The final finish that makes it glow so beautifully- (yes it is possible), a Zero VOC finish. Topped off with a ‘faux lid’ we saved on materials- (‘filler’ so often made of some yucky stuff). We tried our best to keep the green on ‘high’ with the impact set on ‘low’.

Lila B’s creative Brandon Pruett led up this project with enthusiasm, while Sophie de Lignerolles used her artistic talent to draft our ideas and then capture the final plan on film. Pseudo Design and Double Dragon {our fab neighbors on Folsom Street} created our beautiful custom planters.

Just a small smattering of our project shown here…stay tuned for more photos of Lila B.’s interior plant design creations…

From the Set: Styling in Portola Valley

Collaborating with talented professionals is one the greatest perks here at Lila B. Design.  Recently we contributed interior botanical arrangements for a photoshoot with the talented Lisa Staprans of Staprans Design.  The setting was a private home in Portola Valley and the feel was elegant and exquisitely stated.  We delighted in designing a potagères (herb garden) for the patio, a succulent arrangement for under the glass-topped coffee table and many more interested living objects around the house….

Here is a sneak preview of gorgeous images by San Francisco photographer Matthew Millman.  Stay tuned for more soon!
