Seven Days at Lila B.
Sometimes I wonder, what did we do last week?
Here’s a little photo journal entry about how we all at Lila B. spent just one week in July of 2012.
In the {parking} Lot Garden:
Grooming, watering, Slug patrol {eek, we do it by hand!}, and yes our favorite task: cutting flowers & greens and plucking Succulents too for this week’s events.
Mimi helps select and cut for our wedding- and then fills our Honda Element with all sorts of fabulous stems!
In the Studio
With 2 sweet weddings on the books for the coming Saturday, we’re busily creating bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnieres & more! All while neighbors swing by to purchase Succulent and Floral take homes – Baylor chats with a kind mother of a (former) bride who visits us at the ‘Flower Bar’ (our raised loading dock) to select some super hip Succulents for her, just around the corner, office at Mission Loc@le.
Planning & Proposals
We stay in and we step out of the studio to meet up with clients, brides, and event planners. This week we took a quick jaunt over to Alison Events with floral samples in hand to put the final touches on an upcoming September wedding. Another adorable bride came by with her Fiance’s tie: is it right? Will our flowers match? Yes indeed! We’ll make sure it all looks just perfect.
Heading out out our door with arrangements for our retailers & designers
We’re so thankful for our retail outlets including Banana Republic and Restoration Hardware. We swing on by about once a week to make sure all is ‘just so’ for their clientele. And wow, we love when designers stop by to pick up their customs container gardens for their clients- The one below was heading to Hillsborough to be set on a deck…
On Set
Photographers: we do admire what you do! We packed up our tool box 2x that week to work on set. As the sun was hitting a sweet spot, we put the final touches on our botanical and furniture props while photographer Treve Johnson‘s got ready to capture photos of recently renovated deck on Potrero Hill.
A few days later we joined up with photographer Shae Rocco and corporate directors and their crew. We created the florals to assist the team in transforming a beautiful rented home into a holiday celebration! All for an ad campaign for a line of flower & home goods- one of our ‘behind the scenes’ gigs….what fun!
Well, that wraps it up for one week. Granted not all weeks are as diverse- but we wouldn’t mind if they were. All is fun in florals and plants. We do love what we do.
